The modularity of BOXER allows the number of Drive Modules to be based on though life support cost decisions, while the type and number of Mission Module depend on the required capabilities and the force projection. The wide range of variants allow a mission dependent Force Projection. Missions executed in coalition with other BOXER nations benefit even more of the sustainability and capabilities within the BOXER fleet.

• Saving cost – only Mission Module to be developed/taken from the BOXER family
• Future roles – For future roles only Mission Module have to be developed
• Future development – For major development changes (e.g. comms) only Mission Module to be adapted

• Higher level of availability – as Drive Module and Mission Module can be treated separately in case of malfunction
• Battlefield adaptability – Exchanging Modules within the fleet can help maintain the required availability
• Saving cost during life-time – extending vehicle life time by “spreading the mileage” to complete fleet
• Saving cost during operation – e.g. „only transport what needs transport“ ; either Mission Module or Drive Module
• Tailored to Mission – Vehicles can be tailored on a daily basis to the Mission
